The data programs and policy team will build statewide data capacity. Their goal is to harmonize and modernize data and analytics approaches across the state. This team also helps remove common barriers to adopting modern data practices. Their work includes:
streamlining access to modern data tools and data services;
redefining data job classes in state government;
defining policies and frameworks for ethical AI, data management, and data standards; and
providing analytics accelerators to help departments rapidly adopt these tools, policies, and practices via consulting and hands on training. Read examples of the accelerator program at work in the City and County of San Francisco.
The current team consists of the Deputy Director of Data Programs & Policy, Blake Valenta, and Alanna Williams, Statewide Data Programs Manager. We will be hiring for the following roles:
